Open CNC system is a kind of modular, reconfigurable, scalable hardware and software control system with excellent extension, good stability in operating, convenient maintenance and flexibly adaptability to different requirement. It is the 21st century main trends of the numerical control technology. With the rapid development of the technologies of the computer, the electronics and the modern control technology, it comes more and more necessary to develop the modern CNC system cheaply and quickly with these advanced technologies.This thesis has analyzed the domestic and foreign status of Open CNC system,learned that food industry has large demand toward shaped cutter now on the market, but there are no suitable production equipments yet. The ordinary numerical control system can only complete linear and circular interpolation in plane as it was impossible to describle the edge curve in space of cutter, in order to describle this kind of curve, a new method named progressive coordinate of circumference has been provided for the complicated surface panel. On the design of hardware, which use GT-400-SV-PCI motion controller produced by Googol Technology Co.Ltd and Japanese PANASONIC AC servo system. The environment of PC-DSP master-slave CNC system is set up with the best use of the hardware resource of a PC computer itself.The open numerical control Gear grinding machine system of the PC+GT-400-SV-based motion controller has been discussed from software and hardware in detail in the dissertation. The system hardware structure, modular design of numerical control system software and development process of Windows XP-based condition upper human-machine interface of the Gear grinding machine system have been introduced.In the process of developing software, this numerical control system based on Windows XP operating system build the human interface to adopt object-oriented language-Visual C++ modular programming. The human interface is consisted of initialization communication interface, manual operation interface, parameter settings interface, status messages interface and program compiling interface and so on.The control system realizes direct control by the use of dynamic link library of GT-400-SV-PCI motion control card and converts the NC code to the command that the system can execute, achieve the target and acquire excellent results.
