The P-diketone and its derivatives have attracted great attentions for their potential applications in the field of magnetic molecules, extract reagents, catalysts, photoluminescence, and electroluminescence, etc. The rare earth metal complexes have many advantages in opto-electronic devices, such as narrow spectral bandwidth, high color purity, and high quantum efficiency, etc. Therefore, it is important to develop novelβ-ditone rare earth metal complexes and investigate their properties.In this thesis, we have synthesized a series of small molecules containing electron donor-acceptor (D-A) moieties and a multi-functional conjugate polymer containing bothβ-diketone metal complex and electron D-A structure. The contents of this thesis are as follows:1. Triphenylamine and carbazole derivatives are widely used as hole transport materials in organic semiconductor. In this work,β-diketone chelating structure was introduced into these two classes of hole transport materials to form a series ofβ-diketone derivatives. These derivatives are characterized by IR,1H NMR, GC-MS spectra. These functional ligands further coordinated with rare metal ion (Eu3+). The optical properties of the resulting complexes were investigated.2. A new kind of conjugate polymer which containingβ-diketone in the main chain was synthesized and its opto-electronic properties were investigated. The changes of optical character were explained reasonally acording to the experimental results and were further confirmed by theoretical calculation.3. The optical properties of 3-diketone containing polymer doped with rare earth complex at different ratio were investigated. Theβ-diketone containing polymers can also coordinate with different metal ions. The experiments were carried out to investigate the potential application of these complexes in field of ion detection. The spectral features were analyzed to identify different metal ions.
