Phosphorus flame retardant is more and more important because of the trend of halogen-free. Organic phosphinic flame retardants due to their containing C-P (carbon-phosphorus) enhanced chemical stability, has water and solvent extracted, high performance flame retardant, low smoke, non-toxic, on the mechanical and physical properties of small advantages, so the organic phosphine flame retardant is a kind of phosphorus flame retardant in the most widely used, and the prospect is the best varieties of flame retardants, can be widely used in several polymers, such an epoxy resin, polyester, polyurethane, polyolefin, nylon and so on.In this thesis, five kinds of new organic phosphinic flame retardants were prepared in three parts from hypophosphorous acid, triallyl isocyanurate and ethylene. These new organic phosphinic flame retardants were aluminum salts of diethylphosphinic acid, aluminum salts of triallyl isocyanurate hypophosphorous acid copolymer, zinc salts of triallyl isocyanurate hypophosphorous acid copolymer, aluminum salts of tri(3-propylethylphosphinic acid) isocyanurate, zinc salts of tri(3-propylethylphosphinic acid) isocyanurate. Then the processes has been discussed and optimized to improve the yield. The compounds were analyzed by IR, NMR and TGA-DTA, the structure were consistent with target products. The flame retarding performance and mechanical Properties were studied when those compounds are used in PBT.The result shows that these compounds are indeed excellent flame retardants. In the end, some simple hypothesis on mechanism of radical addition reaction was established for explaining the factors of series reactions.
