Tidal flat marsh, a major category of wet land, is an ecological system that ocean and continent adjoin each other and continually evolve, also an important geography unit in the coastal zone., and occupies an outstanding place in ocean resources and environment and play an important role in flood prevention and drought control, and has a vast prospects of development. In resent years, with the rapid economical development in coastal areas and ceaseless urbanization, the service of tidal bank ecosystem gradually increase in demand by human. However, human being do harm to the ecosystem of tidal flat and the service of ecological system appears a tendency to reduce in certain regions as the service of tidal bank ecosystem increase. Scientific assessment of service value of tidal shallow marsh ecological system has tremendous significant in rational development and protection of tidal flat marsh and promoting sustainable development of tidal bank marsh ecological system.The theory does some research to tidal flat in Jiangsu province. The major ecological service function of tidal flat wet land is divided into 4 parts:provide service,adjust service, support service and cultural service, based on analysis of theories and methods of the service value of tidal bank ecological system at home and abroad, combined with features of tidal shallow marsh in Jiangsu sea waters.The four parts have 15 items, including food production, raw materials production, gene resource, potential land resources, gas regulating, climate regulating, water purifying, ecology control, leisure and entertainment, scientific research and culture, cycle of nutritive materials, basic-level production, and offering production environment, based on which establish evaluation system of service value of tidal flat and raise various kinds of calculation methods of function value.Calculations show that, the total value of tidal flat marsh in Jiangsu is 1067732.66 million RMB every year. The food provide service value of per unit area is 1.40 million per hectare every year, raw materials provide service value of per unit area is 0.02 million per hectare every year, potential land resources service value of per unit area is 0.24 million per hectare every year, gas regulation service value of per unit area is 0.67 million per hectare every year, and the value of climate adjusting service value of per unit area is 0.30 million per hectare every year, the provide service value of the water purification approach 0.15 million per hectare every year, The interfere with adjusting function service value of per unit area is 0.03 million per hectare every year, the service value of ecology control is 0.002 million per hectare every year, recreation service value of per unit area is 0.61 million per hectare every year, the service value of scientific research is 0.58 million per hectare every year.
