FGD is a better technical means of controlling sulfur dioxide emissions of coal-fired power plants, the limestone - gypsum flue gas desulfurization method is most common. Recently, the constant tension of the domestic coal supply and declining quality of coal-fired power plant have a great impact. on the normal operation of power plant desulfurization systems.Firstly, the flue gas desulfurization wet FGD system and influence factors of the desulfurization efficiency are introduced, then the influence of the sulfur in coal, heat, volatile, ash, moisture, impurities and other components to the desulfurization system are analysed. The concept and computational formula of the obversion sulfur are established by using the sulfur content and calorific of the coal, basing on the material balance method and full considering the major factors of the SO2 concentration ,such as coal, particle size, residence time, temperature, air flow and fly ash, the optimization calculation model of SO2 concentration in theflue gas is achieved.Secondly, the optimization of limestone slurry is achieved by researching the quality of the limestone and limestone slurry, the operation of control parameters. After the analysis of the main affect factors of the quality of limestone, based on the relevant standards, each component of limestone content, reactivity and Bond grindability index of the three Handan limestone samples A, B, C are measured by experiment ,then their effect on the wet flue gas desulphurization are analyzed ,ultimately, the best quality limestone sample is determine, which provides a basis for the design of Hebei terminal power plant desulfurization systems.through the analysis, the main impact factors of the limestone slurry quality,are slurry concentration, slurry PH value, Slurry density, particle size distribution, impurities, additives desulfurization and so on. To improve the efficiency of WFGD and save energy, taking Cangdong plant and Baoding thermoelectric power plant for example, optimized study on the limestone slurry quality is carried out, the slurry level in absorber and quantity of limestone slurry loop are also carried out by field experiments and programming terms.Finally, the problems of their desulfurization systems are analysed by conserdering the current coal situation of the Baoding Thermal Power Plant and Dingzhou power plant, and then the optimization suggest of the control of coal quality, reasonably adjust operating parameters, equipment reform are put forward.
