Bi-functional magnetic and luminescent composite nanoparticles are widely used in the biomedicine fields, such as targeting, cell separation and bioimaging. Bi-functional magnetic and luminescent composite nanoparticles provide a new platform for both diagnostics and treatment of disease due to their bi-functional properties, which enable "find-detect-treat" in one body. The use of bi-functional magnetic and luminescent nanoplatforms will improve further diagnostics effectiveness and reduce side effects. In this dissertation, using the Fe3O4 as magnetic cores and rare earth luminescent materials as shells, the core-shell structrual nanocomposites were prepared, the preparation method and the properties of the magnetic and luminescent were discussed. The main content is as follows:Fe3O4 @ YF3:RE3+ (RE=Eu/Tb, Ce/Er,Yb), Fe3O4 @ GdF3:Er3+, Yb3+ and Fe3O4 @ YVO4:Eu3+ bi-functional nanocomposites with core-shell structure were fabricated via a facile direct precipitation method, and the structure and performance were characterized. The results show that the nanocomposite particles have excellent magnetic and optical properties.Fe3O4@Gd2O3:Eu3+ and Fe3O4@SiO2@YF3:RE3+ (Eu/Tb) magnetic and luminescent bi-functional nanocomposite particles were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method, the structure and properties were characterized. The photoluminescence spectra and the magnetic properties indicate that the nanocomposite particles have good emitting light and magnetism, which would be potentially applied in biology and medicine fields.
