Pipeline transportation has been the fifth transport model after of railwaytransport, road transport,air transport,sea transport. The safe operation of the pipeline has got attention by the people more and more. Pipline leakage not only seriously disturbed the normal oil production,but also to the country caused huge economic losses and environment pollution.When the pipes leak,if we can detect and locate leaks to leak,it is of great significance.Therefore the pipeline leak detection technology is particularly important.In this paper,it studied the negative pressure wave method for pipeline leak detection and location. The negative pressure based on the traditional method of leak detection using a single pressure sensor technology, as the techoology vulnerable to interference conditions to a adjust the impact of a higher false alarm rate.This paper used dual pressure sensors.This method can effectively determine the direction of the pressure wave propagation and source, thereby excluding the impact of adjustment of working conditions,reduce the system false alarm rate. Crucial technologies in negative pressure wave method are analyzed in this dissertation,then a means is presented which can adopt Global Position System(GPS) to unify the system time between data collecting systems in two ends.The paper introduced the basic theories of wavelet analysis,analyzed the relation bewteen wavelet transform and signal singularity,used wavelet transform to detect signal singularity and can detect the signal mutations effectively,can overcome the positioning errors caused by noise.Introduced negative pressure wave velocity by the influence of the temperature of situation,improved localization of negative pressure wave ,and introduced negative pressure wave intensity of dissemination rule caused by leakage. To avoid leak Positioning inaccurate,determined the method of measuring ends of pressure sensor response time.Finally,the overall structure and plan of software design,which are the system of leak detection and location for oil pipe based on the negative pressure method,is proposed in the article.
