| The Minjiang River Estuary wetland is one of the most typical estuary wetlands in southeast of China. Methane and carbon dioxide fluxes from the Cyperus malaccensis marsh were measured using enclosed chamber-gas chromatograph method, and the methane production and oxidation were also measured. The concentrations of both gases in different soil layers in the Cyperus malaccensis marsh were revealed The effects of environmental factors(tidal water level, temperature, pH, Eh, organic matters and so on) on methane and carbon dioxide fluxes were discussed. The results showed:(1) Methane and carbon dioxide emission appeared higher values in summer and autumn, lower values in winter and spring in 2008 and 2009, but the carbon dioxide of summer and winter in 2008 were larger than spring and autumn.(2) Methane emission in 2008 was larger than in 2009 and the both years were followed the same rules with higher variability.(3) Carbon dioxide emission rules in 2008 and 2009 were different, in 2008 there were two carbon dioxide fluxes peak and in 2009 thers was only one.(4) Methane production potential was higher in winter than in summer.(5) Tide, temperature, Eh, pH and organic matters were the main factors influencing seasonal methane and carbon dioxide emission. |
