This paper presents a reservoir description research for Block Du80which is the majorblock of Shuguang oilfield in Liaohe basin. Block Du80is located within Panjin city ofLiaoning province. Structurally, it lies in the mid of western slope region of westerndepression of Liaohe basin. XLT is the major target development formation, with the provedoil-bearing area of1.6km2and OOIP of927×104t in1998. Fan delta frontal subfacies isdeveloped in this block, the average pay thickness of Block Du80is33.6m,and average stocktank oil viscosity is84551mPa.s at50℃, which is edge bottom water layered super heavy oilreservoir. Now, the main region of this block is at the middle-last stage of cyclic steamstimulation with obvious problems, and limited development by huff and puff to enhance oilrecovery. In order to potential of mining resources, realization of high efficient developmentof oil reservoir, a reservoir description research is needed to be carried out.Reservoir description research of XLT formation of Block Du80is conducted based onreservoir geology, and starts from geology, seism, logging, reservoir engineering by adoptingfine strata correlation, accurate seismic interpretation, sedimentary micro-facies research, geologic reservoir modeling, development effectiveness analysis, numerical simulation, remaining oil study. Strata are classified by sedimentary cycle combination, sands thickness, and performance under the control of marker bed according to correlation and classificationprinciple. Fault and structure characteristics are studied by using drilling and3D accurateseismic interpretation results to solve the problem of complex oil water relationship.Sedimentary facies mode is determined, log facies is classified and vertical evolvement andareal distribution of sedimentary micro-facies are studied based on petrology, sedimentologyand core data. Reservoir characteristics are studied, including petrology, petrophysicalproperty, four-property relationship, heterogeneity, micro pore configuration. Through thesystematic analysis and study about reservoir, oil gas distribution and controlling factors arefurther clarified, and3D geologic model is established. Determining remaining oildistribution according to field production data and dynamic analysis integrated withnumerical simulation. Establishing effective development strategy, deployed the developmentof well. Offering technology supporting for improving reservoir recovery, realizing effective, scientific development, and also providing operative reference for reservoir descriptionresearch for the same type of reservoir in Liaohe basin.
