Zhongliang is located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, karst geology with thenorthern marginof the lava caves, many Quaternary animal fossils buried in these caves, thefifties of last century, archaeologists discovered a large number of precious fossilspecimens in the area of fossil fresh discovery and research. In2009, ChongqingNormal University, Archaeology and Museology experimental teaching centers in theregion, thesystematic investigation of animal fossils found in a number of karst caves.By thearchaeological report form to the cave of the Liangshan two representativeexample, thefossil specimens found in the cave sedimentary types, objective account oftheaccumulation of the Quaternary caves of the region and the composition of themammalfauna, and small mammal specimens to measure the contrast, drawn through acomparative study of small mammal fauna of regional differences. In the Liangshan region has abundant small mammal species, the fossil species ofsmall mammals can be identified specimens have been found in the survey, including25kindsof animals, including the Insectivora, Rodentia, Chiroptera is self-the last centurysince the1950s in the Liangshan region for the first time a systematic Quaternary cavefossilsurvey results. Derived by studying the composition of these small mammalstypical of the Pleistocene in the mid-to late humid subtropical climate type of animalcomposition, reflecting Zhongliang in the Pleistocene to the Holocene climate andenvironmental moresmall changes in mountainous terrain better to save the habitatsuitable for these small mammals to survive.Studies of these fossil specimens on the basis described in the traditional language, the use of ultra depth of field microscopy for high-definition picture describes the toothtipmorphology of small mammals, using a microscope software for accuratemeasurementof the small teeth from the the picture described and measure two aspectsto improve theobjectivity of the study of small mammal teeth, the teeth specimens in the comparativestudy, and to provide more accurate and intuitive information for futurescholars to usethe batch of specimens.
