With aerospace photogrammetry technology continually developing, especially with theemerging of new generation of digital optical sensors, whose representative beingthree-dimensional linear array CCD camera, space surveying and mapping in China has madesignificant progress. However, owing to the coarse geometric location accuracy of the calibrationof satellite images, the utilization of satellite images is still limited in a low level. In order toimprove the geometric accuracy of remote sensing satellites, the techno-geometry parameters ofpayload must be calibrated at fixed term. Building the strict geometric model of space lineararray CCD image sensor is the base of the whole calibration work. To demonstrate theavailability of calibration, satellite image data is essential for the entire calibration process. Thepaper focuses on studying on the SPOT-5 and ALOS satellite sensor imaging model andconducts a preliminary research. The primary works and innovations include as follows:1,The background and significance of the study was briefly expatiated and the domesticand overseas actuality of image model research was introduced. The theory and the coordinatemodel system definitions of space linear array CCD image sensor were described, and thesatellite ancillary data was introduced.2,The paper took the nadir image of ALOS as example, then analyzed the changes of thecamera position, and constructed a suitable model to describe the impact caused by the interiororientation of the azimuth offset. It also provided the selection and optimization of orientationparameters.3,Aimed at the satellites of SPOT-5 and ALOS, the paper constructed the correspondingstrict geometric image model of those sensors. Also the paper verified the result using real imagedata.4,Based on the geometric image model, the paper also proposed the model of attitude angleand point angle of constant error correction. The experiment results show that the precision oftarget location is high and improved.
