The Beidou satellite navigation and positioning system is a new generation of planet navigation and positioning system developed by china. As an important information fundemental project in this century, its development and appliance will have fundmental impacts on science research, economy development, state security, state defence and so on. In order to boost the construction of Beidou satellite navigation and positioning system, we need to speed up the progress of developing customer terminal equipment, which is of great importance for BeiDou satellite navigation and positioning system's appliance in the future.Using the combination of some constellations, the multimode navigation receiver can receive the signals of some kind of satellite system. This combined positioning technology advances the reliability of the system, and the precision for positioning and time service. So, the dependency on the singular navigation system is reduced. Firstly, this paper is to give brief introduction to the situation of the satellite navigation positioning system and the signal system of Beidou and GPS, a improved algorithm was made that using Weighted Least Square(WLS) method as the basis of positioning solution, and this method can reduce the positioning error. Besides, the methods and principles of the combined navigation positioning based on Beidou and GPS. Secondly, the process of baseband research and implement for Beidou and GPS satellite receiver is described, Thirdly, hardware platform of signa capture and software design of the receiver are discussed. Finally, the advantages of combined navigation are brought forward and the content of this paper is summed up. And then, some advantages are proposed.
