The thesis analysed sedimentary systems characteristics of late Palaeozoic and Cenozoic in Heze area, especially focused on researches of late Palaeozoic sedimentary systems characteristics, using basic theories ans analyzing menthods of sedimentology, coal-formed gas geology, sequence stratigraphy, at the basis of collecting and clearing up outcrop datum, core datum and logging datum. Four sedimentary systems are recognized:tidal flat sedimentary system, barrier-lagoon sedimentary system, shallow water delta sedimentary system and river-lake sedimentary system. The thesis studied constitutions of every sedimentary system as sedimentary facies and features. On the basis of sedimentary system researches, the distributary channel sandstones of Shanxi Formation and the river channel sandstones of Shihezi Formation are supposed to be available coal-formed gas reservoirs. The thesis studied petrography characteristics, storage spaces and characteristics, diagenesis, physical characteristics and distribution of coal-formed gas sandstone reservoirs in Heze area. There are four storage space styles:interparticle pore, intragranular pore, micropore and fissures. There are the deepest Shanxi Formation sandstones in the west of Longgu, the deepest Xiashihezi Formation sandstones in the north area of Longgu, the deepest Shangshizhezi Formation sandstones in the area near to the Tianqiao Fault at the southeast of Nanzhaolou and the northeast of Longu, so theae areas are supposed to have good reservoirs.
