With the popularity of web and the development of web GIS applications, GIS is not only a tool used by the professionals, but also should serve people in a larger scope.In this context, the build of GIS public service platform is an important direction is GIS development.The WPS as a deeper level of GIS public service platform, it had be experienced many changes from the conception to the standard proposed,and has paid a lot of attention by the industry.The reasearch on this subject not that much compared with other services,in this context,this paper take the framework of WPS as the reasearch topic.The OGC orgnization has realeased WMS,WFS,WCS,WPS in spatial information services,including the first three as a more basic services.Though there are some differents among them,them all have to come with the problems of services to publish,find,bind and visit. OGC has provided each service must meet the basic operations, basic services and the lequest response model parameter format.However, the specific design requirements defined in the framework of realization, according to this thinking,the following work is carried out.(1)In study of the WPS applications and the basic theory of OGC WPS,we have a clear concepts of GIS service.In this concept, we have a concept on the request/response of the WPS message and the transfer of the message in the framework.(2)In study of several commonly used GIS spatial analysis,code them and make them the concept of the service.Including buffer(including point buffer,line buffer),the shortest path analysis(including blocking and non-blocking path analysis),business location analysis,water resources analysis.Among them,this paper improve the algorithm of convex arc buffer.(3)Through the comparation between the existing mainstream spatial dataabase,we choose ArcSDE and Oracle as the data layer. Research on ArcSDE C API and the system requirements analysis, system design for the space used database engine. By WebGIS server on the network server and a comparison designed to meet the OGC standards-based platforms.(4)Framework for spatial analysis services will be added to the GeoWindows platform, and platform of the docking. And the corresponding spatial analysis service to test.
