GPS technology has been used in lots of fields, and GPS relative positioning accuracy has been achieved the level of 10-9. GPS data processing has an increasing important role day by day. Good data processing model and error correction method is very important when processing the GPS data. The GPS software companying with the receiver can not meet the requirement in many parts of the earth science research and high-precision engineering and these models and methods have to be considered. This paper researches the comparation and application of the two internationally acknowledged high-precision GPS data processing software, i.e. GAMIT and Bernese. The reason why two software called as high-precision GPS data processing software for its consideration and solution to kinds of errors. In order to exploring the deeper application of the two software, reaearchig the characteristics of GPS measurement errors, this paper achieves the application of the two software in the whole processing steps, processing the same data of six IGS stations in China, analyzes the various errors correct items and the specific processing flow of the two software.There are some differences between two software in processing model and error correction method, such as data preparation, initial coordinates obtained and the influence to the baseline, orbit calculation, format conversion, data cleaning, baseline formation and the final calculating precision etc., this paper compares the two software in these facts and processes the IGS data in the east Japan earthquake, discusses the application of the two software in plate motion monitoring, get the characteristics of the two software, and the conclusion has some referential value in writing GNSS high-precision processing software.
