With the development of science and technology and the improving of the defense needs, the stealth technology of military equipment has been got more and more attention in recent years, also achieves rapid development. Along with the development of modern advanced detection technology, the stealth capacity of weapons and equipment in a narrow band has far not meet their survival request. Microwave detection and infrared detection are the main two detection means, therefore, the study on the microwave/infrared compatible stealth is very important.The main purpose of this paper is to study the radar/infrared compatible stealth coatings with microwave absorbing coatings surface coated with a layer of infrared stealth coating. To achieve the purpose of compatible stealth, let the microwave absorbing performance depends on the microwave layer, and the infrared stealth performance depends on the infrared layer.In this article, starting from the electromagnetic wave absorption mechanism of flat materials, the microwave reflectivity formula of multilayer absorbing coatings is deduced. First, for single-layer absorbing coatings whose thickness is 1 mm, study the relationship of the microwave absorbing properties and the electromagnetic parameters of materials. On this basis, use the panorama analysis method and the genetic algorithm to research the optimized design rules of multilayer microwave absorbing coatings whose thickness is within 1 mm. According to different specific application environment of absorbing coatings, using absorbing materials whose electromagnetic parameters is known designed two kinds of optimization schemes, one contain FRP, the other not. They boss have good results, the thickness is within 1 mm, and the microwave reflectivity is as low as 10 dB within 8~12 GHz band. Test the absorbing performance of the preparation of radar absorbing coating, get the same results of change rule and reflectivity values, compared to the optimization results.From infrared stealth theory, and choose special mixed shape aluminum as infrared pigment, with modified epoxy resin as adhesive, through the theoretical research and experimental study we found that when the quality percentage of aluminum is 40%, the infrared emissivity is 0.33. When the thickness of the infrared coating is about 40μm, the whole compatible coating has very good infrared stealth performance, and also have very good microwave absorbing properties.Through the above research, the optimization design and preparation of the thin layer of microwave stealth coating is realized in this paper, and its compatibility with infrared stealth is studied, and the results are ideal.
