Baojixia Yangmaowan irrigation district(hereinafter referred to as Baoyang irrigation) is located in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, a part of loess plateau, and also an important part of loess platform. It is one of the biggest irrigation districts in Shaanxi and an important agricultural production area in China. Because the surface water resources cannot meet the growing demand of water for the development of industry, agriculture, and daily life, therefore, scientific and effective groundwater utilization becomes increasingly important. In addition, in this area, the loess has good water-retaining property and forms a good water-rich aquifer, which makes it possible to use and develop groundwater. Groundwater evaluation of Baoyang Irrigation could realize the hydrogeologic condition, know the condition of groundwater, scientific planning the groundwater development methods, and then offer the basis and guarantee of groundwater sustainable utilization.However, calculation methods of groundwater evaluation is single work, need to re-set formulas or rewrite the computer programs every times, which is repetitive work, will reduce the gross efficiency, and do not meet the high efficiency, energy conservation principle. Therefore, cloud computing is introduced, and groundwater evaluation is established for groundwater evaluation of Baoyang Irrigation area. In this way, the method of groundwater evaluation will be networked, so that everyone could evaluate groundwater by Internet, without a lot of repetitive work. So the evaluation efficiency is improved.Cloud computing is a new Internet-based calculation method, which contains many traditional computer technologies and network technologies. It has great strength, such as liberty, reliable, scalable, sustainable and cost- effective, and has tremendous prospects for development. It is the first time to use it in water evaluation. Using Google App Engine, Java computer language and Eclipse software, framework of cloud computing is built, with BP neural network, support vector machine, calculation kernel is established, finally, using JSP, interactive is finished, and the groundwater evaluation platform based on cloud computer is established. This platform has the standard cloud computing model, and could effectively evaluate groundwater by Internet.With groundwater evaluation platform based on cloud computing, groundwater resources of Baoyang Irrigation Area is evaluated, and the main results is: (1) In the groundwater quantity, there is no water shortage, but the growth of groundwater capacity has slowed down considerably, and decreases in the last two year.(2) In the groundwater quality, the result is more serious, especially in east and west, and the trend is from middle to east and west, from north to south, the water quality becomes worse.(3) some suggestions were proposed, such as optimizing the site and method of groundwater exploitation, developing water-saving agriculture, and others suggestions of groundwater development, to efficiently alleviate the water contradiction, and solve the water shortage problem step by step.(4)According to the process of the groundwater evaluation of Baoyang Irrigation, we can see that this groundwater evaluation platform is available, and has a high precision. Besides, using cloud computing, groundwater evaluation could be considerably simplified, informationized and intelligentized. So that it can change the traditional calculation methods, improve the combination of water resources calculation and modern compute technologies, especially the combination of water resources calculation and network technologies.
