With the rapide Exploration and Development of the deep gas exploration these years, the volcanic rocks and clastic reservoirs in the south of the SongLiao Basin have got a great breakthrough, showing the bright prospects of the deep gas exploration in the south of the SongLiao Basin. so, how the potential of the deep source rocks is on earth ? How much hydrocarbon gas resources are there? This has become the region's problems in the deep gas exploration which remains to be solved. In this research, Based on deep hydrocarbon source rocks in the Dehui fault depression through quantitative and qualitative methods for solving the problem, this will play an important role in deep-seated natural gas exploration.Dehui fault depression is located in the southeast rifts of South Song Liao Basin, Faulted-depression is double-faulted depressionsas a whole. There are tow sets of source rock, which include Yingcheng Formation and Shahezi FormationUsing the geochemical characteristics of the source rocks and with geochemical and logging data, the paper evaluates Dehui depression deep hydrocarbon source rocks qualitative and quantitative risk. Starting with the analysis through analyzing those data such as chloroform asphalt content″A″,organic carbon content, vitrinite reflectance and organic elements, the authors evaluates Dehui depression hydrocarbon source rocks the geochemical characteritics analysis and quantitative risk on the abundance, types of organic matter, thickness of source rocks and levels of thermal evolution, determining the expelling hydrocarbon threshold of source rock, at last according to sediment buried history and thermal reconstruction, evaluates quantitative evaluation on hydrocarbon source rocks in this area. Through researching it is indicated that the source rocks rank medium-good ones, being of higher organic matter abundance,the types of organic matter are typeⅠand typeⅡ,the maturity of organic matter is low to over matured in major. The liquid window for petroleum generation in the mudstone of Dehui depression is 1600m,the hydrocarbon generation from coal in Dehui depression is 1000m. The quantitative evaluation of the hydrocarbon source rock shows that the amount of gas-generated quantity in Dehui depression is 13×1012m~3 (the expectation value is 50%). The migration and accumulation coefficient of Dehui depression shows that the amount of gas-generated quantity is 2551 BCM.
