Nowadays a lot of companies endeavor to succeed in indigenous innovation when they want to stand out in the fierce comercial competiton. Technological learning is crucial in enhancing the abilities for innovation as well as core competencies for those companies. While many of those companies have tried to improve the performance of technological learning, organizational memory is one of the important factors. Only when companies implement their technological learning by matching to their organizational memory situation can ensure the good result of the technological learning as well as the innovation performance.This paper aims at analyzing how organizational memory impacts the innovation performance when companies conduct technological learning through the two aspects of organizational memory—level of organizational memory and drive for the change of organizational memory. Based on survey on 89 companies which focus on the high-tech products, the paper tests and analyzes the hytheses in the conceptual model. Main conclusions are drawn as follows:(1) Level of organizational memory is reflected by knowledge stock, experience and regularization of the company. It has positive impact on learning contents, participant's type and learning level for technological learning, while its impact on source for technological learning is not obvious; (2) drive for the change of organizational memory has positive impact on all the four aspects of technological learning; (3) level of organizational memory has stronger impact on the contents for technological learning while drive for the change of organizational memory has stronger impact on the participant's type and learning level under comparison; (4) all the four aspects of technological learning have positive impact on innovation performance; (5) level of organizational memory and drive for the change of organizational memory both have positive impact on innovation performance, while the later one has stronger impact.Combining the more detailed investigation on some companies, the paper also provides corresponding advices for companies which have different attributes of organizational memory. Together with a case study of Sinfor, enhanced illustrations on the conclusions are put forward.
