Since the resuming of insurance operation in 1979, China's insurance industry has acquired very fast development. The increasing speed of premium income reaches to 34% in China since 1980. The quantity of insurance companies reached from 1 in 1980 to 93 by the end of 2005. Since China's joining in WTO on December 11, 2001, after a transition period for three years, China had opened its door to foreign insurance companies. Under the background of diversification of financial industry, several insurance companies of China has adopted diversification operation strategy, such as PICC Holdings Company, China Life Insurance (Group) Company etc.The insurance group companies who adopted diversification management existed in western countries for a long time, and have formed systematic methodology in risk control. However, for the special environment of China, it's different to control the risks of insurance group companies in China. For this reason, based on the fact of insurance companies'operation in China, the thesis intends to use for reference advanced risk control experience in western countries, make some elementary studies in risk control of diversification operation of insurance company.I.
