Qingdao Exhibition Tourism Research

MICE, one of the prevalent tourism types, having great economic and social potentiality and favorable development prospects, is called "gem on the imperial crown" and has become a spotlight of tourism development and tourism academic research.This paper chooses the Qingdao's MICE as a subject to research and concludes the development process of MICE in home and abroad. And on the foundation of studying the definition of MICE, this paper reveals some inner characteristics of MICE, such as significance, features, operating entities, affecting factors. The theoretical study is a preparation for analyzing Qingdao's MICE development. Then, based on that, this paper analyzes systematically the SWOT of Qingdao MICE, and points out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Qingdao MICE development. On the basis of concluding the forefather's appraisal theories, this paper discusses principles and methodes, sets up an index system, uses AHP method to analyze competitive capabilities of MICE from every stratrum among Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian, Xiamen, Kunming, Suzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Qingdao. Through comparing the competitive capabilities of MICE of Qingdao with those of other eleven cities from every stratrum, this paper puts forward the solution for Qingdao MICE'S developing, including the principle of Qingdao MICE's developing, the objective of Qingdao MICE's developing, and the strategy of Qingdao MICE'S developing. At last, this paper puts forward some conclusions and suggestions to promote Qingdao MICE'S developing.
