This thesis introduces the concept of the Leader and Member Exchange theory, the developing phase and evaluation of its strength and weakness. The thesis introduces the Chinese cultural characteristic background and demonstrates the applicability of the theory under Chinese culture. The thesis mainly describes how to apply this theory in the special environment with Chinese culture. The thesis states the issues of its application approaches from both sides of the Leader and Member separately. In the exchange process in realistic work, from the view of the Leader, they think they can take such kinds of ways such as providing an in time feedback to its Member who will be asked to give some amendment advice, working together with its Member to try to look for the reasons resulting in the issues and the improving methods, letting the subordinates knowing the whole status and defining the target, etc. As a result, this kind of exchange will improve the performance of the whole organization greatly. From the view of its Member, they think they can forwardly help the Leader solve problems and let the Leader know his/her intention and development, at the same time welcome the supervisor to give some advice. Therefore, the high quality exchange will be produced with an organizational performance improvement. In the end of this thesis, the author indicated that a high quality exchange will not always produce a high performance, and that a high quality exchange within certain limit sometimes will damage the rules of an organization. The Chinese culture is more suitable to the small organizations, not the big one. This specialty should be paid more attention in practical work. The advice for improving are given finally.
