In recent years, service and service trade increasingly call great attention in international trade. The center of the world economic structure starts to move toward service industry. Service trade becomes the main power of economic growth. There are definition of service trade based on statistics of international balance of payment, the trade and development meeting of the United Nations and the WTO. The definition of international service trade based on WTO is widely accepted all over the world. According to WTO, service trade is:① to offer service from the national boundary of one number country to the boundary of the other ② to offer service from the national boundary of one country to the service consumers of other country. ③to offer service by the natural man of one country in the commercial present of the other country ④ to offer service by the natural man of one country to the national boundary of another country. Because of the variety and the complexity of the international service trade, there is no unitive classification criterion. The representative classification are popular classification, the classification based on WTO, the classification based on IMF (international monetary fund).The essay discusses the development trends of service trade in the process of economic globalization, which include acceleration trend, high technology trend, unbalancing trend, structural optimizing trend and trade barrier enshrouding trend.
