The relationship of Sino-Japanese economy and trade has counted a great deal for a long time and Japan has long been the biggest partner of our country in trade. The Sino-Japanese trade volume has been on the rise. Under the circumstances the container-shipping market of Sino-Japanese line is also prosperous. Sino-Japanese line is characteristic of its low demanding access, short voyage distance and large goods supply, which makes it become one of the few lines that can bring profits to shipping companies in this line. On the other hand, problems like sufficient capacity supply and low freight are always obsess many shipping enterprises. With the more and more fierce competition in international shipping market, many shipping companies are confronting the crucial challenge and life-and-death pressure. And it has become the focus as to how to get rid of the plight and enhance the core competition ability so as to realize the middle and long-term strategic developing goal.Through introduction and analysis of the Sino-Japanese container-shipping market, the paper conducts a forecast of container transportation volume on the basis of China's developing situation and Sino-Japanese trading trends. In the meantime, with the help of principles of vessel optimization and of consideration about the line's characteristics, the paper tries to discuss the vessel optimization in Shaghai-Osaka line, which may have any enlightenment holped by this paper as to how container shipping enterprises get out of the price war and operation plight, and realize long-term development.The paper consists of four chapters. The first chapter fully expounds the general situation of Sino-Japanese container shipping development.
