In 1960 s, the Third World countries as a new political power began to the stage of history, and it has a great impact on the structure of international relations. At the same time, European countries gradually restored the economy. So the World Bank’s assistance began to lean to the Third World countries. In the early Cold War,India as the third world’s great power,its domestic encounter a serious food crisis and currency crisis, while the production and development lack of funds, so India increases the demand for development funds. In this context, the World Bank’s aid turn to India, which will have a great impact on Third World countries. It has important significance and academic value for research the World Bank aid to India in 1960 s.In this paper, I make the World Bank’s aid to India as object, and make the World Bank cooperation with India as the main line, further analysis the impact of World Bank aid to India in 1960 s.This paper is mainly divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly explains the research significance of this thesis, and the research status at home and abroad. It also illustrates the content, writing ideas and writing methods of this thesis, finally defines the related the concept.The second part is the main body part, it is composed of three chapters. The first chapter expounds the background of implementation of World Bank assistance to India in 1960 s, including the background of world bank aid and India accept the aid; the second chapter is the main part of this paper, mainly studies the 1960 s World Bank Assistance Project in India, which divided into on the national level and on the local level, and also analyzes the aid characteristics. The third chapter discusses the fruit and influence of World Bank’s aid to India.The third part is the conclusion part, this part integrate main viewpoint of this paper, also compared the similarities and differences of world bank, United States, Soviet Union and international consortium of aid to India’s aid to India in the early period of the cold war.Through the above research, this paper argues that in the 1960 s the World Bank’s aid to India reflect the shift in its aid policy, which its aid began to lean to the third world. While it has an important relationship with the rise of the developing countries in the international arena. |
