All regions are actively strive for joining this opportunity. Yanbian as a center of the northeast Asian economic circle, it influenced by South Korea, Korea, Russia, Japan and other international factors, but also to "Yan Long Ji" " Chang Ji Tu" and northeast Asian countries surrounding the region’s economic and social effects. Since the "twelfth five-year", promoting the in-depth implementation of the open pilot strategy, advancing the Tumen river-regional cooperation development, vigorously develop foreign trade, and make quality improved continually. Now foreign trade dependency of yanbian area, however, foreign dependency and tourism openness is not high, illustrate its today’s comprehensive opening level is not high, also can explain the development and openness of the Yanbian have space to further improvement. How to speed up the development of its openness, should make good use of all the way "the Belt and Road" national strategy, under the economic environment of the new normal, seize opportunities. All the way but in the "the Belt and Road", against the backdrop of the development of Yanbian open development also exist some limitations, such as urban function is relatively weak, complex geopolitical factors, port management and channel construction problems and difficulties, there are still manufacturing technical innovation lag, Yanbian export model is single, unreasonable export commodity structure and government decision-making sometimes is unscientific.In this paper, under the background of "the Belt and Road", Yanbian’s development have great opportunities and challenges, this paper used SWOT analysis. Advantages include geographical conditions and policy environment, Yanbian has a good development platform, industry advantage, cultural homology. Disadvantages including the infrastructure is still relatively weak, port industrial strength is not strong. Opportunities including "the Belt and Road" strategic opportunity, Chang Ji figure development of strategic opportunities, promoting the infrastructure improvement opportunities. Challenges including industrial low density, concentration, poor ability of foreign trade and economic cooperation on a smaller scale, needs to improve structure, foreign investment enterprises to lose the market share of the Yanbian region and the traditional labor-intensive industries pattern pressure increases. By understanding their own development and gradually opening, to develop Yanbian’s economic.This paper uses the regional economics, development economics, international economics, combined with the development and problems of Yanbian, under the background of "the Belt and Road" for promoting the development to provide the referenced suggestion.
