A Study On The Differences Of Inter - Regional Internet Development In China

Throughout the world, the internet has been integrated into all aspects of people’s daily life. The development of internet has also changed the production mode, living style, consumption patterns and national governance deeply. Via internet, it forms a virtual space which contains a set of information flow, technology flow, cash flow and the talents. This space, thus, accelerates the various resources flow and integration in time and space, having a huge impact on the real economy. The 21 st century is an internet-era. The internet provides new energy to economic development and becomes an important sign of measuring nations’ economic soft power and competitiveness. In addition, internet economy would become the new form of economic development all over the world in the new century.In 2015, Premier Li clearly stated that “internet +” action plan in the Government Work Report. Since then, almost every field anticipated in the boom of internet. In a lot of area of China, they formulated the corresponding development strategies, such as “internet plus agriculture”, “internet plus industry”, “internet plus service” and “internet plus precise poverty alleviation”. Regional development of the internet owned new opportunities.Because of the complicated history and a vast territory in China, the natural resource endowment, economic foundation, social culture and ideological concept are inherently different from various regions. Over the years, the regional economic development has formed gradient gap among eastern part, central part and western part in our country. Under such background, the regional development of the internet is inevitably different. And these differences are bound to affect the development speed and level of the internet in different areas. The development of regional economy is also influenced.On the basis of theory carding, the purpose of this paper is to establish a more complete index system of internet development. And to quantify the current situation of the development of the Chinese regional internet. From 2005 to 2015, Chinese internet users and internet penetration increases sharply and the absolute volume occupies a certain advantageous position in the world. However, compared with other nations on the relative level, our country still have a long way to make further effort. This paper selects four first class indicators and eight second class indicators to establish the internet development index system. And taking the regional division into account is to quantify the current situations of cyber development in different provinces. Finally, this paper makes the further analysis about regional differences. The results show that there is a declining trend among east part, central part and west part. And the internet development indexes are obviously different from different provinces, especially the internet infrastructure. Therefore, we need to spare no effort in top-level designing and resource distributing rationally such that reduce digit gap and making a balanced development.
