Yunnan known as the Animal kingdom, Kingdom of plants and non-ferrous metal kingdom, the ethnic minority areas in Yunnan province are especially rich in resources and pleasant scenery. In recent years, with the development of the ethnic minority areas economy, minority rural residents’ CO2 emissions also increased. Therefore, the development of low carbon economy is particularly important. The article divided residential energy resources of minority famer households’ into three parts: fossil energy, biological energy and other energy. By choosing minority Hui, Miao, Yi, Zhuang, Bai, HaNi, Dai, NaXi, Wa and by which from Yunnan province as objects of this study and according to their daily behaviors to evaluate and estimate the volume of carbon dioxide emission, analyzing the influencing factors of Yi households’living activities through Logit model. The following work has been made by this paper:(1) Fossil energy, biological energy and other energy CO2 emissions are measured from nine kinds of ethnic minorities in the three years from 2012 to 2014, CO2 emissions. It shows that: ethnic minority farmers living activities CO2 emissions in 2013 decreased a little, but quickly recovered and far in excess of the CO2 emissions in 2012.Therefore, CO2 emissions increased overly, waste and electricity’s CO2 emissions accounted for the main part of 75%.(2) These ethnic minority farmer households CO2 emissions are measured from all kinds of energy in 2012-2014, the results show that the Hui farmers living activities CO2 emissions are the highest, accounted for about 20% of the total displacement, lowest Wa, less than 3%. The utilization of biological energy in the ethnic minority farmer households which is less than 4% of total, and the biogas facilities penetration rate in minority areas which is less than 1%.(3) The influencing factors of the CO2 emissions of a household is Analyzed, which include permanent population age, level of education of the household, family size, family income, ethnic customs and the distance to the energy market. The results show that minority farmer households’CO2 emissions are strongly affected by the permanent residents’age, family size, family income, and ethnic customs. Education levels of the household and distance energy market are not correlation with minority farmer households CO2 emissions.According to the above conclusion, the relevant guidelines are put forward to reduce ethnic minority farmer households living activities CO2 emissions.
