Application Of Value Chain Cost Management In A Catering Company

With the development of productive forces and intensification of market competition,cost management is becoming more and more emphasized. And the competition for cost becomes an important weapon for enterprise to take part in the market competition.The scope of cost managementhas expanded from internalto external,and the traditional forms of cost control has been replacing by value chain gradually,which was more forward-looking.This paper mainly studies the method of case analysis,on the basis of the analysis of value chain cost management theory, taking A catering company as an example to study the implementation of value chain cost management.Implementation of A catering company still use the traditional cost management mode.By researching the present condition of A catering company,It is found that there are some problems, such as different departments have communication barriers; backward in information systems; cost management system is not perfect; procurement is not scientific. In view of this situation, we need analyse the necessity and conditions of the value chain cost management,the design the value chain. Followed by hierarchical analysis method to analyze all aspects of the index weight, the to link to optimize the value chain, and puts forward some safeguard measures for the cost management issues, such as establishing the company’s internal value chain, strengthening communication and interaction between various departments; strengthening the construction of information system; perfecting the cost management system; making scientific procurement.The paper draws the following conclusion through the research, traditional cost management model isn’t adapted to the development of A catering company, and applying advanced value chain cost management is imperative. In addition, through the study of this paper, we hope provide reference and help for other areas.
