| In recent years, an unprecedented emphasis has been put by most countries on the information security, which has already become the focus of competition among countries and the status of which is gradually improving in terms of our national security strategy. Information security is one of those industries whose rapid development is highly addressed by our government during the 12 th Five-Year Plan, and its share is increasing in the information industry. The dramatic progress made in the fields of big data, cloud computing and mobile internet has put emerging threats on information security. Thus the information security has drawn lots of investments recently. Some IT tycoons have acquired information security related companies to expand and complete their business.Therefore, it is an urgent and serious challenge for us to judge to valuation of information security related companies.A discovery has been made through looking up the documents that showed a scholastic absence on the topics dealing with the appraisal of companies in information security industry. The current research is mostly centered about the policy and trend of the information security industry, while there is yet a certain gap in the valuation in those documents. Compared with the other high technology company, the information security company has difficulties in the appraisal of the risk in the discount rate, which is influenced by the industry accreditation. However, risks of technology also come with these companies as a high-tech technology enterprise.In total, this article takes an example of these information security related companies. The valuation of these companies will be determined through an analysis of industry features, the status quo of the industry development and the factors that will affect the industry. The income approach used by company appraisal will be applied onto these companies, in the hope of offering some advices in the valuation of the information security related companies. |
