This paper makes a study of Vivaldi antenna for ultra-wideband system. Ultra-wideband technology has a wide application in the short range and high speed wireless communication system, its inherent characteristics and specific application determine its radiation system different from traditional broadband and narrowband antennas, the development of ultra-wideband antenna is based on narrowband antenna, the performance of ultra-wideband directly affects the whole system operation for it is a key part of the radiation or receiving system, so it is necessary to carry out the research on ultra-wideband antenna system.The study derives from the assembly project , it is focused on the radiation system, it researches mainly on the integrated system which is composed by PCSS, Blumlein line and Vivaldi antenna.Firstly, this paper makes a deep analysis of the transient electrical pulse source PCSS whose development history, present status, research content, working principle and its application prospects; Secondly, it makes a study on Blumlein line , that is on its work processes and role which is voltage multiplier, cut-off wave and energy storage, and several parameters are identified according to its three functions. By virtue of electromagnetic simulation software CST , it is modeled and simulated, and then an experiment is done. Thirdly, it analyzes Vivaldi antenna history , three kinds of typical feed structure , that is coaxial-slot line feed, coplanar waveguide - slot-line feed and microstrip line - slot-line feed, and it makes an analysis of its working principle and improve the previous Vivaldi antenna , propose the method of electrical connection , two antennas through electrical connection to form an array can enable low-frequency reduced to about half of the original antenna, Gaussian pulse which pulse width is 1ns is used in the project, we can see by Fourier transform its energy mainly distributes within 500MHz, meanwhile close the lower frequency, the energy is more. So reducing the antenna low frequency can greatly increase its radiation to the surrounding space. Finally, the PCSS, Blumlein line and electrical connected Vivaldi antenna is integrated, meanwhile it is modeled and simulated in the CST, and an experiment is done to test it.
