In recent years, multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) antenna technique has re-ceived more and more attention, as it can dramatically increase the spectral efficiency and improve the transmission reliability of wireless communication systems. In wireless com-munication systems, the signals arrive at the receiver have different degrees of fading be-cause they are affected by various obstacles and other movable objects between transmis-sions. For the reason that to establish an accurate MIMO channel model is an important factor to design the MIMO systems and evaluate the system performance. The focus of this paper is time-varying wideband MIMO channel modelling, including as followsFistly, the general description of MIMO channel model was given. A detailed descrip-tion of statistics of channel was given; MIMO channel capacity and factors on the impact of capacity were studied in depth.Secondly, according to the modified Jakes fading model, the novel approach id devel-oped by using the sum of sinusoids to establish Rayleigh fading MIMO channel. The novel approach can establishment a time-varying wideband MIMO channel. At the same time, an improved shaping-filter method, which can eliminate correlation of different taps by adding a random phase-shift, is proposed to simulate the independent fading channel. The Weichselberger model has been inspired by the correlation-based models, e.g., the"Kronecker model". Instead, the joint correlation properties are modeled by describing the average coupling between the eigenmodes of the two link ends. The improved shaping-filter method is considered.A simulation platform of the wireless MIMO channel is proposed, then simulate the MIMO channel model based on IEEE802.11n standard. Then, we propose a novel space-time-frequency MIMO channel model. The parame-ters of a channel simulator are determined by fitting the space-time-frequency cross-correlation matrix of the simulation model to estimated space-time-frequency cross-correlation matrix of a physical channel. For this purpose, an iterative parameter computation algorithm and geometrically based double- bounce methods has been devel-oped. The measurement-based simulation results the feasibility of the proposed methods. Finally, the whole was dissertation summarized and concluded. Further research issues and possible research directions were pointed out.
