As an important means of modern communication, frequency hopping communication is used in the field of military and civilian. Blind parameter estimation and modulation recognition of FH system has become a hot research topic. Especially in the rapid development of frequency hopping communication system, the quality of parameter estimates and the recognition percentage will directly influence the subsequent processing. Therefore, high accuracy, high stability and high real-time approaches are the main research direction. This paper studies blind parameter estimation of FH system and proposes several different methods by combining the time-frequency analysis and signal processing theory. These methods not only provide high accuracy estimation result effectively, but also maintain good real-time performance through simulation analysis. Secondly, this paper studies the modulation recognition of SFH system, FFH system and proposes the methods of modulation recognition, meanwhile gives the specific process. The followings are the content of this paper:1. We introduce the basic principles of frequency hopping communication systems, frequency hopping synchronization and frequency hopping sequence. Finally we give the result of FH system simulations.2. We propose their different applications through analyzing three types of time-frequency methods and summarize their advantages and disadvantages.3. We study the estimation results and propose the improvement by analyzing STFT, WVD time-frequency methods and signal process. Simulation results show that these methods have better accuracy and real-time properties.4. We study modulation recognition of SFH system, FFH system and summarize the effective recognition methods and reduce the difficulty of identifying FH modulation signal.
