As information technology develops rapidly over time, the wider range of technologies and issues the development of software systems involves, which resulted in more difficulties of developing mature and robust software within a short period. In the meantime, by connecting computer technology and people, Graphical User Interface development has started to play an inevitably critical role in modern software development, which leads to greatest extent of humanization. And it also accounts for a significant part among all the work through the entire software development lifecycle. As well known, the right approach to avoid coding duplication is to apply Code Reuse, which can substantially raise the efficiency and quality of software development. Over the last decade, because of Object Oriented technology, which has gradually become a basic and technical underpinning for Code Reuse, by which, Code Reuse returns to be a focus, considered as the empirical resolution for improving the efficiency and quality of software development. Software Framework and Design Patterns are of the most crucial significance. This thesis is mainly doing the research on Code Reuse, focusing on Design Patterns for interfaces and Software Framework, and also describing cross-platform technology with details regarding the Qt technology. Under the guidance of User Interface Patterns and in accordance with the steps of Software Framework development process model, this thesis further looks, based on the author's project experience, into a software product that is specifically for geophysical oil exploration , aiming at abstracting the application framework, which has been eventually worked out and applied in practice, successfully proved generic within this domain and highly reusable across various platforms.
