Short-wave communication is an important wireless communications technology in the field of military communications. Differential Frequency Hopping technology is a new short-wave communications technology which is developing rapidly in recent years. It has very strong data transmission capacity and anti-jamming capability, so it is a important development direction of a new short-wave communications technology.The core technology of Differential frequency hopping communications system is the design and optimization of the frequency of metastasis, the frequency transfer function of design optimization, not only can improve the system transmission efficiency, improve performance of multi-user network, but also effectively improve the system of anti-interception performance. This article summarizes the frequency of the traditional transfer function of differential frequency hopping design features, combined with higher order Markov process theory, put forward the concept of Higher Order Differential Frequency Hopping, and using the convolution structure of a higher order differential frequency hopping frequency transfer function design.Compared with the traditional Differential frequency hopping, the Higher Order Differential Frequency Hopping has more frequency sequences associated and coding redundancy. The increasing of coding redundancy improves communication performance against noise. The Higher Order Differential Frequency Hopping based on convolution coding structure achieves the transfer encoding and decoding scheme using the state, the frequency of the transfer of no fixed relationship between, making the frequency of sequences with better dimensional uniformity, to improve the performance of communication against interception.In this paper, we use theoretical analysis and simulation verification, compare the traditional differential frequency hopping and high-order differential frequency hopping in the bit error rate performance and anti-interception performance. The results showed that high-order differential frequency hopping has excellent coding structure, its bit error rate performance and anti-interception performance has been significantly improved.
