Networked Control System is the control system using network of informational transmission as a closed loop. The problem of transmission time delay should be existed in the process of networked transmission of information. The stability of control system and the control performance will be affected inevitably by transmission time delay. Therefore, the effect of network time delay should be considered comprehensively when designing networked control systems.According to the definition and structure of networked control systems, the composition and characteristics of network time delay are analyzed thoroughly. For the network time delay' effect on the networked control system, how to handle the network time delay under the performance requirements of the control system is researched. A method to realize networked control of ball and beam system is proposed by adjusting the fuzzy control's parameters according to the network time delay. Firstly, by analysis of the network environment, the scope of the network transmission time delay and its characteristics of variation are measured and changed into a fixed time delay sequence. Secondly, the ball and beam system's model is built to design the fuzzy control strategy. Thirdly, the control parameters of fuzzy controller under different network transmission time delay are obtained by adding a fixed time delay to the ball and beam system's local control experiment. Finally, in the ball and beam's networked control experiment, the fuzzy controller's optimal control parameters under different condition of network time delay are chose to reduce the effect of network time delay. The control system's control performance is acceptable under different condition of network time delay by adopting this dynamic fuzzy control method. The experimental platform is built on web-based networked control systems laboratory called NCSLab. NCSLab is developed by J2EE technology and Matlab/Simulink Real-Time Workshop technology. NetCon networked controller is adopted to offer the capabilities of algorithm implementation and network communications. The control algorithm and monitoring interface are configured on the web to realize controlling the experimental device remotely.
