With the industrial production and machining technology rapid development, the sand paper as the necessary tools used in industry, its usage and demand appears to have a yearly growth trend. Currently in the traditional industrial production, sand defect detection is mainly rely on workers eyes visual, measuring the size with the defect rulers. This relatively backward detection technology caused many problems in sand paper defect detecting process, such as low efficiency, low capacity, high cost and so on. So in case to slove such problems, more and more companies domestic and overseas do their best to meet the troubles.This paper analyzes the system of the online measuring of sand defect Image acquisition, determine the camera and light in the sand defects detection equipment and complete set of hardware. Considering the diversity of sand defects in the system adopts the method of transmission and diffuse to collect information. Through the study and research of image processing and identifying technology, in contrast analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the image processing algorithm, threshold segmentation method is improved and the adaptive threshold segmentation algorithm, the two algorithms can adapt in different lighting mode of defect image threshold segmentation and Ferture Extraction. Finally, the system realized defects detection area, perimeter and length of parameters such as sand defects, quantitative analysis.The application software, developed with VC++, make the system realize the real-time object tracking while ensuring the tracking veracity...
