The identification of modulation types of communication signals has been widely used in many kinds of fields, such as source identification, interference identification, radio interception, electronic countermeasures and so on. In this paper, we have researched on the detection, recognition and parameter extraction of communication signals.Firstly, communication signals, including analog signals and digital signals, such as AM signals, FM signals,2FSK signals, BPSK signals, QPSK signals and so on, have been analyzed in the time-domain and frequency-domain. On this basis, the modulation signals have been dealt with channelization processing, which divided the channel into 16 sub-channels, with the whole process achieved in the FPGA. Then we get the power spectrum analysis of modulation signals through periodogram method. According to the results of the power spectrum analysis, some parameters such as the bandwidth, carrier frequency of modulation signals and the symbol rate of digital modulation signals were extracted by effective method. Above of all, each signal has been recognized according to the parameters, through the characteristics of time-domain, frequency-domain and power spectrum. The identification probability of each signal has been tested too.According to experimental results, modulation signals can be recognized clearly in the condition of reasonable SNR.
