According to the problems that the irregular surface modeling difficulty and complex in reverse engineering(RE). This article research the N-sided surface modelling technology , introduce the basic technology and theory of the B-spline curve and surface in the N-sided surface modeling,the establishment of the N-sided surdace mathematical model,the realization method of the N-sided surface technical and points out its application prospect.According to concrete methods of blending surface and taking VC++ as the platform, this article reaserch the realization of N-sided surface and the B-spline method with the computer graphical display technology. The main content as follows:One: This article introduces the development of the technoloy and theory of CAD and its usingin the car body desigh, promotes the main problems in reverse engineering of body desigh, expoundes the research significance of the N-sided surface technology.Two: This article introduces the basic theory of curve and surface and mainly explains the parametric method of curve and surface and its geometry invariability. The related theory of the B-spline curve and surface is the basic technology of the realization of N-sided surface, so the explaination is very necessary to the instruction of N-sided surface.Three: With the other reaserch results of N-sided surface and the theory of B-spline, this article promotes a creative method to desigh normal N-sided surface with the theory of B-spline and gives out the concrete step.Four: This article simply introduce how to desigh program with the VC platform, detailed explain the step of the N-sided technoloey, desigh a simple application procedure and provides several simple examples.
