In recent years, as an emerging broadband wireless access technology, WiMAX is general concerned by the industry. Its main technical features are the high transmission speed, coverage, and support for mobility, to provide QoS guarantee and all-IP-based network architecture, the realization of the data packet, broadband access and mobile terminals of the three-one, so they have a wide application prospect. As a major feature of WiMAX technology, the biggest advantage of mesh wireless network lies in the flexibility of networking, in the remote area, the formation of mesh-based wireless network is obviously more convenient than the PMP network and cost savings. There are two different scheduling mode in Mesh: centralized and distributed, and distributed scheduling is greater than the advantages of centralized. There are some defects of present the best existing scheduling, distributed scheduling of distributed scheduling, especially, there is no specific detail in time slot allocation.Hence we propose a new scheduling algorithm based on the old proportional scheduling algorithm called DCS(Distributed wireless-network Cross-layer Scheduling Algorithm)—Proportional-based Distributed wireless network Cross layer Scheduling Algorithm, PDCS. The core of this algorithm is the concept of cross-layer design, meaning that in order to distribute the wireless resources efficiently, scheduling algorithm should consider not only the state of mac layer but also the one of physic layer, which is also a huge improvement in the fairness of the network. In the end, simulation is taken to prove the benefits of this algorithm. Since a great part of the research on the mesh network focused on the coordinated one and much less on the distributed one, this algorithm is as far as we know the first cross-layer scheduling algorithm for the distributed WiMAX network.
