POS(Point of sale)is also called bankcard terminal service(or called counter terminal service)in chinese, since multiple bankcard business such as transfer are completed through POS Terminal and internet. Because of that, PINPAD of the POS terminal should download master key.To POS terminal administration(Union Pay or Bank of Commerce), the key step to the security of the whole system(e.g:MIS System etc.) is how to download safety master key on PINPAD of POS terminal.This paper studies deep in analysis of terminal key download, research of the working principle and working process of key download device, and future research of implementation mechanism of the terminal key download in the embedded system.Research and development of key download device can make "one device,one key" come ture, increase the coefficient of safety of the whole bankcard system, decrease the security risk of one terminal key leakage. And it can also constitute union software interface, standard terminal key download operation procedure. Meanwhile key download device supports many type terminal, and makes key transportation seamlessly linked with the bankcard center.
