Tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) and its derivatives have reversible redox and strong electron donating properties, they have many applications not only in molecular conductors, but also in material chemistry area. Since the discovery of the first organic conductor in 1973 and the first organic superconductor in 1980s, a lot of TTF derivatives were synthesized and studied. Film materials and molecular electronic devices based on TTF derivatives have been received attentions in recent years.In this dissertation, four new electron donors containing diamino group, pyridine group, pyrene group, have been designed and prepared. Thin organized molecular films and potential molecular electronic devices have been prepared using these donors, physical and chemical properties are also researched.The main research results of this dissertation are listed as following:1. Four new TTF derivatives were synthesized and characterized by 1H-NMR, MS, IR and elementary analysis. The new electron donors were measured with cyclic volyammetry.2. LB films were prepared based on DAD-TTF and BPD-TTF, both of these two compounds can form stable films in the interphase of air-water (BPD-TTF containing pyridine group can also form stable films in the interphase of air-FeCl3 solution), The physical properties of the films were studied by UV-vis-NIR spectra, XPS, AFM and conducting property. The results indicate that iodine can form Charge-Transfer complex with the compounds in the films, so the conductivities rise after iodine oxidation; While in the LB film formed by BPD-TTF in the subphase of FeCl3 solution, ferri ions has oxided part of the regular compound and formed complex structures with BPD-TTF in the films.3. UV-vis spectra of TTF-PY and TTF-PY-TTF which contain pyrene groups are studied from two aspects: electrochemistry oxidation, chemical oxidation. The results indicate that new peak values come out after oxidation, and they intensity with the oxidation increasing. While their fluorescence spectra indicate that fluorescence property come out after oxidation and it grows with the growing of oxidation time. From the UV-vis spectra and fluorescence spectra, it is known that the compounds can form potential fluorescent molecular swithches in future. TGA and DSC characters are also studied, the results indicate that TTF-PY has the property of single changing liquid crystal as heating up.4. DMol3 method of Materials Studio calculateing software are used to study molecular structures and properties of TTF and TTF-PY. They are found to have good conjugating and symmetry characters on one hand, on the other hand their ability of donating electrons are better than getting electrons'ability, and another UV-vis spectra of TTF have blue shift. Experiments have proved the results of calculation, which offer reference for future experiment.
