With the quick growth of the capacity and quality requirements, the technologies in wireless communication domain grow rapidly. MIMO can use the space-multiplexing diversity efficiently to boost the system throughput. OFDM can resist frequency selective channel by converting it to flat fading channel in frequency domain. MIMO-OFDM system, which combines the two technologies, can improve channel capacity and robustness of wireless communication system.This project is to develop MIMO-OFDM communication system, which is designed using software radio theory. The hardware system framework is designed using FPGA and DSP. To improve the performance of the system, Turbo receiver has multiple iterative. However, for the high complexity of MIMO detection and Turbo decoding, one DSP cannot meet the demands of turbo receiver. Consequently, two DSPs are used in series.The key point of this dissertation is the interface design and implementation of MIMO-OFDM system. The data transmission interface is introduced from four different parts of the system serial interface of signal transmit part, transmit part of baseband signal, receiver of baseband signal, serial interface of signal receiver. The design and implementation of three interrupt service routine is also introduced. How to design the interface of turbo receiver is also depicted.In the period of experimentation, test of all interfaces were carried out. In this process, the exactness maturity and reliability of the interfaces design was verified under all the circumstance. Transmit part, receive part and intermediate frequency circumstance are all tested which verifies the correctness of the interface design. After combine debugging, indoor wired small signal and outdoor wireless signal test is implemented. The result of implementation meet designed requirement. The design of this project can improve the transmit rate of this communication system. The project has been checked and accepted by experts.
