Terahertz is at an important position in the electromagnetic radio frequencies and it is possessed of different properties of millimeter wave and infrared. Recently, the new surge of research on terahertz arose from some appearance of new Terahertz technology in the word. Terahertz technology is valued as one of the ten science technologies influencing the future of the world in 2004. People had learnt very few about terahertz wave limited by lacking effective way of transmitter and detection before 80's of 20th century. However, The rapid development of ultra-fast laser technology has offered a stabile and reliable laser source for production of terahertz radiation pulses, which has promoted the broad application of terahertz technology to fields in basic research,industry,military affairs as well as biotechnology field. At present, terahertz is showing its a great much of potential valve because terahertz especial properties have been applied to biomedical,microelectronics,agriculture,communication,counter-terrorism as well as the other region.However, there are some restricted faces during terahertz development. Scarcity of small,economical terahertz source which can offer continuous wave of high average power is the main limitation for a broad application of terahertz technology. The research of terahertz technology has been performed in many countries and gotten rapid and very important progress. But it is one of important subject how to enlarge the power of terahertz.In the text, A Extended Interaction Klystron Amplifier is designed on the basis of microwave electronics. Transmission characteristics of the high frequency system,the process of modulation and bunch abut electron beam as well as interaction between electron beam and the high frequency electromagnet field have been researched. And then it is simulated by computer technology. A new terahertz amplifier is obtained. The main research is as follows:Firstly, the summary about the terahertz development,the properties and the technology on the terahertz are introduced; The development history and trait of klystron amplifier is summarized; Main parameters of an extended interaction klystron amplifier are analyzed.And then, the klystron theory of bunch is introduced systematically in the text. By means of bunch theory, little signal EIK of the terahertz is analyzed. Through theory of the space electricity wave, the principle of extended interaction klystron is investigated.Finally, two extended interaction klystron amplifiers are researched. One is the structure whose output port is at 14th cavity, the other is at 13th. By cool simulation of CST software, geometric parameters,dispersion curve and work point about the two amplifiers are positioned; Using hot simulation of PIC software, on condition that operating voltage is 12.54kV and current is 64mA, frequency is 222.731GHz with TE10, the peak output power of the extended interaction klystron amplifier is16.765W when peak input power is15.79mW. Its enlarging multiple is 30dB and its efficiency is 1.043%. If operating voltage is 12.74kV and current is 77mA, frequency is 222.741GHz with TE10, the average output power of the extended interaction klystron amplifier is 36.969W when average input power is 5.7mW. Its enlarging multiple is 38.12dB,efficiency is 3.76%.
