System Based On The Dvb-t Set-top Box Front-end Design And Realization

With the rapid development of digital TV broadcasting, it's now in the stage of one-way to two-way interactive transmission mode and the basic business to the value-added services. Digital set-top box is the product of this development stage. To rely on it, people can watch digital TV at the analog television and use the value-added services such as electronic program guides, video on demand, web broadcasting. So the STB greatly enhances the TV's features and applications.In the different kinds of digital terrestrial transmission standards, for its excellent performance, DVB-T has obtained a wide range of applications. In this article, I discussed the detailed structure, signal processing methods and flow of the digital terrestrial television transmission system based on DVB-T standard. And with the detailed analysis of the receiving system of DVB-T, I designed and implemented the solution of DVB-T receiving system's Front-End (including signal demodulation and channel decoding) for C-NOVA(GW).First of all, in the hardware design, I chose Philips's TDM1316AL as tuner, and ZARLINK's ZL10353 as demodulator. And in the paper, I have analyzed the function and implementation performance of the tuner and demodulator. In terms of software design, because of the overall project using real-time operating system VxWorks, this article on the VxWorks and its software development environment to do the introduction first. On this basis, I designed the front-end receiving system's overall software architecture, and focused on the signal's control, equipments'driver and middleware's development.Finally, I integrated the Front-End, the main control chip: LSI9700 and the H.264 decoder: FH8601 together as the overall solution of DVB-T receiving system. In the last test, we got a good reception, fully achieved the purpose of practical application.
