Automatic modulation recognition and modulation parameters estimation are key problems in non-cooperative communication systems and Software Defined Radio. Non-cooperate communication is commonly used in civilian and military applications, where it is required to monitor the activities of communication signals in space and intercept the signal information content with little prior knowledge.Software Defined Radio is a key technique in future communications, which require the receiver to work in multi-mode and multi-band based on a same hardware platform.So it is necessary to recognize the modulation type and estimate the modulation parameters automatically.The main work of this paper is as follows:First,we proposed a combined modulation recognizer.Without the prior knowledge of modulation parameters,6 types of commonly used modulation signal,including AM, BPSK,QPSK,FM,2FSK,16QAM,can be classified correctly by the proposed recognizer. The algorithm first detected the signal is divided into three categories, and then signal through the introduction of second-order or higher-order statistics of the types of signal between the identification, in order to receive specific signal modulation pattern.Secondly,we studied the modulation parameters estimation.We estimated the signal carrier frequency,symbol rate,bandwidth and amplitude. The simulation results show that selection of the parameter estimation algorithm can sample at a relatively low signal to noise ratio and fewer sampling points to achieve the desired accuracy is estimated to meet the requirements of the project.Thirdly , we designed the hardware circuit that achieved the system requirements. In this paper, the hardware circuit of the main components are briefly introduced, and its selection criteria are to ensure the availability of alternative models of the stars under the conditions of selection of industrial or commercial devices, the hardware structure of a mature, high reliability and conducive to the realization of the project.Finally,we analysed the field test data.These field test data can be used to verify the technical target of this project. A large number of field test data, analysis of under the different signal to noise ratio and different signal modulation bandwidth of the error distribution to modulation recognizer, analyze under the different signal to noise ratio, different modulation, different signal bandwidth distribution parameter estimation error, while an analysis of flight test in the Doppler frequency of signal frequency measurement accuracy. Test results show that the measurement error signal frequency, bandwidth measurement error, error code rate, modulation rate of identification of the correct technical indicators to meet the requirements of the project.In conclusion, this paper presents through the use of modulation recognition, parameter estimation algorithm and the hardware circuit design, the development of projects to meet the requirements for the project after the realization of the project has laid a solid foundation.
