With the globalization of market in the 21st Century the enterprises are facing increasingly fierce competition. Only by improving their competitiveness, can enterprise survive and develop in this severe environment. As the necessary way to promote an enterprise's competitiveness enhancing sales management level has attracted more and more attention. After many years' development free forging enterprises feel that the manual operation mold they have been using for years isn't applicable any more. An advanced sales management system must be developed to improve the enterprises' sales management level. This article based on the background of Nanjing DVR Company (DVR)' enterprise information project, studied key technologies of sales and developed forging enterprises sales management system.This article firstly introduced the concept of sales management and the status of sales management information system; secondly found out DVR had some weaknesses in accuracy of quotation, due date prediction and process evaluation; thirdly made deep analysis and solved above weaknesses by optimizing the sales process. After concluding and expending this case the author developed DVR sales management system. This system put strees on the study of two key technologies : sales prediction and sales quotation. In view of the lack of forging products' sale data, the legion and seasonality of the influencing factors, a prediction model with combination of seasonal factor and grey forecasting was proposed in sales prediction research. For purpose of embodying detailed process information, the sales quotation accounted forging products' cost by activity-based costing, comprehensively considered the influencing factors of the forging products by fuzzy set theory and thus realized the decision of forging products' profit rate.By optimizing the sales process, design of the sales system and study of key technologies, the DVR sales management system was developed. With this system DVR can increase its sales management ability and competitiveness. The research reported in this paper provided significant reference for sales management and its system development for forging enterprises. Grey forecasting model mentioned in the article proposed solving scheme to data prediction which lacks original data and are seasonal. The combination of activity-based costing and fuzzy set theory provides guide to quotation of other enterprises.
