Any electronic device can produce noise,noise is one of the important parameters in radio metrology. Measuring the noise parameter precisely, which plays an important role for ensuring the accomplish of many tasks such as the missile emission and the secondary planet emission. It is the main job of this article that developing the automatic verification system of microwave noise parameter which corresponds to the detailed requirements about noise numerical transferring for Scientific Research and Test Armament Measurement &Test Center of P.L.A. General Armament Department. It can achieve the automatization, the standardization and the normalization for noise metrology as well as ensure the performance stabilization and measure accuracy. It also solves some problems such as many verification items, long testing time, complex operation, excessive data quantity and complex disposal for noise metrology.This article analyses the intestine and overseas actuality about the noise metrology development. At the same time, it introduces the correlational concept of noise metrology and the compose of noise measurement equipment. The article discusses the principle and method for noise measurement in detail, especially makes an in-depth expatiation about the Y coefficient method which is adopted by this system. Likewise, the article analyses the buildup and characteristic of the automatic testing system, compares all kinds of the bus technical which constitute the foundation of the automatic testing system, forecasts the development of the automatic testing system. In addition, this article introduces the detailed implement methods for noise parameter verification, discusses the operation regulations about the verification equipment of the solid noise source and the noise figure analyzer. On the basis of this, it puts forward the whole design idea for the automatic testing system, nails down the overall target for system which is steady and reliable, exoteric and flexible, and can be applied simply. It also establishes the project for hardware connection.The article explains the software implement procedure mainly and introduces the function and characteristic of the software roundly. Based on the Visual Studio.NET, The software is completed by C# language, it makes systemic framework and arrangement clear by using modularization program manner for modeling as well as using the RDBMS for organizing the datum. The system adopts command variable method skillfully and solves the question about the disunity of program-controlled command for instrument, it enlarges the application range and swells the transplantation of system. The article also analyses some difficult questions during compiling the software and provides corresponding solution. At last, This article makes total performance verification for the noise automatic testing system and analyses the measurement uncertainty of each verification item in the round. The system is assessed by the repeatability test and stability test according the national military standard 2725A-2001. By comparing the verification results and those from the superior institution, the bias all lie in the permission, it proves the results are steady and reliable. Because the principle which including simple application, convenient expanding and easy transplant is ensured when undertaking the task, the content discussed in this article can be commonly used for the noise parameter automatic testing, And at the same time, it can be used as reference for the development of the other automatic testing systems.
