The detection of small target in infrared image is a hot issue nowdays.With the rapid development of Signal processing technology,the infrared target detection technique has been used in many applications,such as Military-guided, satellite remote sensing, target tracking etc.With the characteristics of weakness of shape of image, no obvious size, lose of detail of image and low SNR etc, point target detection of infrared image is difficult in infrared image detection and processing in recent years.Point target detection of infrared image can be divided into single-frame images Detection and multi-frame images. Detection based on single-frame images can be divided into three phases, followed by image preprocessing, target segmentation and target detection. This paper mainly focuses on single-frame images preprocessing.Firstly, several kinds of commonly used pre-processing algorithm are introduced and these algorithms are used to process two kings of low SNR image in different background.The simulation results are compared.Secondly, based on the study of the methods of target detection both at home and abroad, two effective detection methods have been used,which are small target based on the mathematical morphology operations and the wavelet detection algorithm based on threshold. They are proven to be effective to improve the performance of infrared small target detection. The implementation of the algorithm and the simulation are finished based on MATLAB Tools. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show the effectiveness of these two algorithms.At last,the authou summarizes achievements in the thesis and points out the work need to be done in future.
