Based On The Windows Platform, Host Intrusion Detection Systems And Firewalls Linkage Study

Firewall is an important technology that is used to prevent network intrusion. But only firewall is not enough for some special occasions. The intrusion detection system (IDS) is now being an important technology to guarantee the security. Intrusion detection is a very important dynamic security technology. The Intrusion Detection System becomes the indispensable component to ensure the security of network resources. With the development of the firewall, PKI, and so on, it is significant to achieve the cooperation among the security components. So what is to be done is that we should research in the field of interactive protocol and interface standard of the security components. Of course, it is the trend of the IDS research.In this paper we analyze Host Intrusion Detection technology the Firewall and deeply and summarize their advantage and disadvantage. The paper discuss Interaction with Firewall and Host Intrusion Detection System.Host Intrusion Detection System related with Firewall may monitor host computer's various states at real time, distinguish the intrusive action or illegal operation of possibly occurring, and voluntarily stops the illegal operation related with Firewall and gives an alarm when the intrusive action occurs, and protects the host computer's system information security. The paper introduces port scan and Trojan horse detection model pieces in it.Finally I summarize the work in this paper and give the prospect of the research in the future.
